Hackett first started by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings in the Portobello Road of London. The Hackett brand name developed through the years looking at new ways to expand the Hackett name and brand heritage. Two army officers found the Hackett brand in the early years and asked for sponsorship for the guards polo club and hence the arrival of the classic Hackett polo shirt. Advertising started small for the Hackett brand with posters on the London red buses using their initial Hackett clothing slogan of Essential British Kit. This slogan still does to this day outline the Hackett brand and heritage and the Hackett brand has remained true to its roots keeping the Essential kit, British.
